Obviously my friends the Mammary glands didn’t do their job well enough, so we had to move unto more drastic measures. It was approaching the time that Mom needed to know that I was here, so she could begin taking proper care of us.
Plan B, part 1: Mammary glands went into overdrive – no way could she miss this!! And I know she didn't. I sensed/heard when she asked Daddy “Do my boobs look bigger to you”? Well, Daddy, being a gentleman or better yet, knowing there’s no right answer to a question like that – said “No, they look the same”. Well, either he’s blind or he prefers a happy wife, because Mom was definitely packing on some weight and it was all in one place!!!
Plan B, part 2: As mom slept through the night, she rolled over unto her stomach and a shot of pain ran through her boobs. She immediately sat up in bed in shock wondering what happened. I knew it wouldn’t be too long before she figured it all out.
That weekend Mom got the answer to a suspicion that was running through her mind – yup she was pregnant. Prego. Bun in the Oven. In the family way and any other clichéd saying there ever has been. True to her love of suspense and thriller moves, she just couldn’t tell Dad she was pregnant. No, that was too easy, so she devised a plan for him to have to get the pregnancy test and see the results.
Needless to say, he was stunned. Surprise! You’re gonna be a daddy. Really, she almost gave him a heart-attack at the tender age of 3- (what, you think I would divulge my dad’s age? Never! I need to stay on his good side…he’s gonna buy me presents one day :-) )
On January 12, 2010, it was confirmed by the nurse as she nonchalantly told Mom – “Yup, you’re pregnant”. WHEW!!! I thought I would have to resort to drastic measures like nausea and vomiting. Thank goodness she’s clued in now. During the visit, as Dr. Bridges tried to locate me, Mom asks “Where is it?”? IT?! Who are you calling IT, Lady? I see Mom and I are going to have a misunderstanding and we may have to have an intervention!
Well, that’s it for the moment….Be blogging with you soon!
Baby Smitty – August 2010
About Me - Baby Smitty
- Baby Smitty
- I'm growing strong and taking charge. As of April 9, 2010, I'm a 10 1/2" long, 14 ounces dude or dudette in training. Mom & Dad tried to figure out that riddle, but I'm not ready to share my secret yet!!! Check back frequently as my stats will be updated on a monthly basis. Since I don't have any usable digits at the moment, my soon to be mom, Kim Dennis Smith, is chronicling my/our adventures on my behalf. You can consider her my "ghost writer".
